SIFA-East, NYC ACM SIGGRAPH, and Women in Animation invite you to the NYC premiere and Q&A of Crow: The Legend, a Native American animated short starring John Legend, Oprah, Constance Wu, Sarah Eagle Heart, and Randy Edmonds. Produced by indie studio Baobab Studios and Native Americans in Philanthropy.
The diverse cast, including Diego Luna and Liza Koshy all joined the project as advocates of their own minority communities and believe this mythic tale needed to be shared to help heal. Indigenous worldview focuses more on community, which often contrasts with Western worldview which focuses on the individual. Please help us shine a light on indigenous storytelling.
Crow premiered at the Gathering of Nations in both 2D and VR and is an official selection of Venice, Cannes, Annecy, Busan, SIGGRAPH, Anima Mundi, LA Film, Spark, CTN, Animation is Film Festivals and more.
Please RSVP to aylah@baobabstudios.com for the NYC premiere and Q&A with Director Eric Darnell (Co-Director of Antz! and all 4 Madagascar films), Sarah Eagle Heart (Executive Producer, Crow voice, and CEO of NAP), and Kane Lee (Head of Content and Story). Moderated by Katie Cropper Klein, ASIFA-East President.
