Statement

I would like to become a member of NYC ACM SIGGRAPH Board of Directors because I can lend my expertise as a technologist and educator to further the mission of promoting the latest and greatest computer graphics tools and techniques to members of the NYC chapter.

In my current role as Sr. Systems Director at the School of Visual Arts, I have the opportunity to interface with many hardware and software vendors in the computer graphics and visual effects industries. I am also involved with the Studio Sys Admins group. As a Board Member, I would like to synthesize this technological information and share it with the NYC ACM SIGGRAPH chapter. This information can be shared via coordinating in-person events or via the NYC ACM SIGGRAPH website.

Currently, there is membership benefit of discounts for local businesses, which is listed as “currently under development”. This is an area in which I would like to devote time in developing. My skill set would also be suited for the Programs, Volunteers, and Web Site committees.

Being an educator, I would also like to extend NYC ACM SIGGRAPH's reach to students and market events to educational institutions when appropriate.
