NYC ACM SIGGRAPH is a part of the ACM SIGGRAPH network of Professional and Student Chapters. We are a non-profit, membership organization that as a part of the ACM SIGGRAPH organization values passion, integrity, excellence, volunteerism, and cross-disciplinary interaction in all of our activities.
NYC ACM SIGGRAPH Members include those involved in education, research & development, the arts, industry and entertainment. They are interested in the advancement of computer graphics and interactive techniques, its related technologies and applications. We gather throughout the year at meetings, site visits, conferences, video screenings, art shows and special events.

On Thursday, June 11th, NYC ACM SIGGRAPH is proud to present a special edition of the SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 Electronic Theater and give you a preview of SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 through the eyes of the SA2009 Art Gallery Chair, Yuko Oda.

MetroCAF 2009 closed for submissions
The seventh edition of our annual NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival provides an exciting opportunity for all students in the area to show their work to not only their fellow students,
but also to professionals in the field of computer graphics. Plans are under way for
the festival to tour the network of ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and
Student Chapters so this could mean international exposure for your
computer-generated pieces. The on-line entry form was filled out 87 times by students from seven schools, now it is up to the jury to select the best student animations to be shown on October 1st!
Our Most Recent Events: Motion Capture, Designing for NASA's Orion Crew Module and Industry Spotlight VII
On Monday, May 4th the Motion Capture (MOCAP) team from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and the Computer Science Lead from United Space Alliance provided an inside look at how NYIT has contributed to the smart design process of the Orion Crew Module mockup being utilized at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in a motion capture application.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2009, we hosted our Seventh Annual Industry Spotlight.
This event features animation and post-production facilities from the
NYC-metropolitan area. The presenters told us a bit about their
company, showed work and discussed projects. One of them made everybody
wear 3D glasses, as you can see in the image on the right. You can view
